Children’s Dentistry
At Mt. Scott Family Dental, we're happy to care for children as well as adults. Routine checkups and cleanings are just as essential for young patients as they are for adults, especially because children are just learning to care for their teeth. During your child's visit, we'll help him or her remove leftover bacteria, plaque, and tartar. Dr. Donnelly or Dr. Nomie will also check on the development of your child's teeth. If we need to recommend treatment for gum disease, tooth decay, or another problem, we'll discuss those treatment solutions with you.
To make your little one's first visit with us a more comfortable experience, we often recommend bringing your son or daughter with you on one of your own visits first. This will help your child become familiar with our office and our friendly team.

Dental Sealants
Does your child's smile need extra help in the fight against decay? At Mt. Scott Family Dental, we're happy to offer advanced care with dental sealants.
Cavities often form when bacteria and small particles of food find their way into the deep pits and grooves on the chewing surfaces of molars and premolars. But dental sealants prevent this process from occurring by putting a thin coating of plastic between the patient's teeth and the bacteria and debris that can harm them.
Treatment with dental sealants doesn't take long, and most insurance companies will cover it. Once your child's sealants are in place, you can expect them to provide up to 10 years of effective protection against decay.
