Intraoral Cameras
At Mt. Scott Family Dental, we use intraoral cameras to help patients have a clearer idea of their dental needs and the solutions available to them.
An intraoral camera is a small, camera-tipped wand the size of a pen. During your exam, a member of our team will insert this wand into your mouth to take a video of the interior. The images collected by our camera will be transmitted to a monitor you can see directly from our dental chair.
With your mouth on the screen, Dr. Nomie or Dr. Donnelly can point out problem areas and discuss your treatment solutions. As a result of this process, you'll become a more informed partner in your own treatment.
Seeing your mouth onscreen will also show you how well your regular homecare routine is paying off. Based on what we see, we can recommend ways of improving your routine between appointments.
